I have owned many basses over the years and am always searching for those 'tones' I have in my head. These basses have included: Alembic 5 Europa, Pedulla 5 buzz and Thunderbolt 6, Nueser 5 Cloudburst, Sadowsky J5, Warwick Thumb 5, Musicman 5. All these basses are great, actually they were exceptional but had somewhat of a limited sound in that they all sound great in certain EQ configurations but offered only the "sound" of that particular bass. The F Bass I bought has the most effective combination of woods and electronics I have seen so far. I can't make the bass sound bad. When I'm playing live I always find the right tone for the song with ease.
The overall tone can range from classic J bass, to a hotrod Sadowsky type of modern J bass, to more "high fi" sound like Alembic and Pedulla. Rich and focused Lows, nice mids with a touch of growl, and sweet high end. The 34.5 scale helps give the B focus without jumping up to a 35 scale bass, so it is more "familiar" feeling. It is light and has a very "fast neck"
I am very happy with this bass. I can bring it anywhere and it will perform beyond my expectations.
