I have successfully cured my B.A.S. (Bass Acquisition Syndrome)! I'd like to thank my friends and my family for being there when I needed them and especially Dr. George Furlanetto in Hamilton, Ontario. Seriously, there is no way to put into words what I get back from this bass while I play it. I get an equal amount of spiritual and physical satisfaction from having it in my hands. The sunburst finish is perfect in every way. The sound is even more indescribable.

There is not a single piece of plastic on the bass (except of course, some of the electronics). The knobs are turned african blackwood. The bridge is hand-made out of macassar ebony. The nut and saddle are bone. It has through-body stringing. The fingerboard has lines only on the sides of the neck and from the 12th position up to the 28th(!), small circular pearl markers are inlaid into the face of the fingerboard between the D and G strings. VERY easy to stay in tune. I can see how the body shape can take some getting used to if you've never seen one but I'm in love with the shape now. Especially the way the headstock complements everything else. He's now offering, as an option, a "reverse-tuner" headstock configuration so the B string has farther to go between the nut and the tuner. Apparently this makes the B string sound more clear. It's hard to believe that the B string on my bass, without the reversed headstock, could be more clear than it already is. The sound and feel of this bass is exactly what I've been looking for for a very long time.

The only thing I can recommend is for you to just go out and buy one (or another one) now! I could keep going on about all the types of tones you can coax or about the ergonomics and timeless style but I'd rather just tell you to not wait any longer to get one. This is absolutely the most exciting time we could possibly be bass players (and humans) and George is undoubtedly one of the most clever, careful and masterful luthiers to be found in the world, and, in my opinion, quite possibly the history of the world.
