This is a beautiful instrument with very good attention to detail, making it a faithful reproduction of the original '57s. The 1957 P-Bass was a refinement of Leo Fender's first electric bass and was an improvemnet which remains largely unchanged to this day.
This one is fairly lightweight and the finish is expertly applied. The main departure this one has from the modern P is an anodized aluminum pickguard. The neck is slightly wider and thinner than the contemporary models. Nicely balanced and it doesn't wear me out when I have it strapped on.
The tone is clearly P; heavy on the low mids and powerful. The only change I've made to its stock configuration is to replace the roundwound strings with flatwounds.
