This is the best sounding p-bass I've ever played. It's true what they say about pre-cbs Fenders. Don't know if it's the age of the wood, the brazilian rosewood fretboard, or the pre-cbs alnico pickup. It's lightweight, but sounds punchier, deeper, more substantial and much warmer than any of the several other p basses I've owned, from '66-'96.
