I was in the market for a fretless bass and purchased this one through Ebay off a guy in Brooklyn. He didn't include a photo, but for $250 bucks including a nice gigbag, I thought it was a acceptable risk, and it was. While this bass has been significantly altered with a refinish, an aftermarket fretless neck, a BadAss II bridge, a Jazz pickup and a different pickguard, it plays very well. Its got the classic "thumpy" Precision Bass sound you hear on sound tracks from 1970s TVs shows and movies, and with only the Jazz pickup on, its got a Jaco-esque biting sound. The bass has good sustain and it has the fretless sound I was looking for. The only problem has been poor solder work on the electronics, which was easily fixed. This bass ain't no collectors item and it ain't no looker, but it was cheap, plays great, and best of all, has a great fretless bass sound.
