I played music a lot - guitar and bass - in the 1970's, then quit for 20 years. Now I am re-learning the bass. I am really glad I didn't sell this '75 Precision. I am still crying over the 1963 Stratocaster I sold for $500, the 1964 Jaguar for $300 and the 1964 Mustang for $200!!! The bass has the original flatwound strings on it. The are apparently very heavy gauge and pretty difficult to play. But I like Motown/reggae BASS sounding bass, I hate twangy bass, and this instrument definitely provides it. The all clear finish/white pickgaurd is beautiful, and it has only one finish defect - a 1/4" x1/2" abrasion on the back. Due to the way Fender mounted the pickups - on pieces of foam, which have lost their resilience, I can't adjust the pickups the way I want. The chrome plating is not as good as the pre-CBS quality, but definitely better than the current Fender basses. The neck shape is perfect for me. Myabe, after 27 years, I should change the strings???
