It was complete, with bridge and pickup covers, original parts, and even the instructions, warranty registration and string tag!! A bit tatty, but that seems to suit some of these old workhorses - honest wear and tear- not a ridiculous "relic" job like that on some brand new guitars (sacrilege!).
Somewhere in the distant past, someone had an extra Precision pickup, complete with grounding plate, near the bridge for more sound variety. A Jazz pickup is more usual for this mod, but it did the job just fine. Its a shame the fitter wasn't much of a carpenter - he had to add an extension to the scratchplate to hide his crime!
It's worked hard all its life so far, and I can hardly bring myself to put it down - much better than some of the old dogs out there with banana necks and dead-as-a-doornail sound. An excellent investment that's paid for itself many times over - and will be worth at least twice what I paid for it if I can bring myself to part with it (if only I didn't have that extra pickup!).
