I only got this bass yesterday, and I'm very impressed. It has a really 'alive' feel to it and a lovely full sound. It is fairly easy to play, and the strings feel really tight. This may because the action isn't as low as it could be, but it gives the bass a very responsive feel. It has a really cool growl, and it is _very_ punchy, and it manages this while never letting the sound get too thin or aggressive. I reckon it would be awesome with a preamp, but I couldn't bear to cut it up, so I'll have to investigate outboards...

The bass is 'straplock ready' which is just as well because the case (included in the price) is _really_ snug, and I can barley fit it in the case with a strap on. The case is quite heavy but feels as solid as you could want, and has a small storage area to keep the manual and allen wrenches in. You couldn't really fit anything else in there except perhaps a tuner and plectrums. The bass itself isn't too heavy, but not exactly light either.

I think £725 is quite a lot of money. My old bass, a Peavey Milestone (Jazz copy) cost me £190, and I have usually had a good tone. Sometimes I had a very good tone. I have played some expensive basses and come back to my Milestone and thought 'Hey, this ain't bad!'. But this Jazz eats my Peavey for lunch. If I boosted the bass on my amp with the Peavey, I would get mud. With the Jazz I just get a bassier tone. It is one of the nicest basses I have ever played, and I am so far very happy with it.
