Well I've just about ended my quest for 4 string
basses. The first bass
I started on was an El'degas copy of a Precision bass
way back in 1981.
So needless to say I've always wanted a REAL one. I
picked up this bass
about 4 months ago and have really enjoyed it. It's
not a very flexable
instrument, but it does have a certain vibe that only
Fender basses
seem to have.
The construction is first rate and the bass feels
solid in
your hands. I was never a fan of old Precision necks,
but this one is very
easy to play and nice to get around on. I play with
alot of attack and
like very low action and I seem to able to do that on
this instrument
without any fret noise. Fender has done a nice job on
these fretboards and it
shows. The graphite reinforced neck is great with no
dead spots and is easily
adjusted with the tool Fender provides.
All in all a great bass that has a certain quality
about it that the new fancy pants
basses don't have. When you are ready to Get a
quality American made
instrument that comes with a good quality case and
some other goodies for under
a grand, look no further then the Fender American
series of basses. The Precision
and the Jazz are truly great deals.
