This bass is pretty standard as far as playability. It's a P-Bass. The active electronics really give it power and there is a wide range of tonal flexibility. I'm even going to switch from the Ernie Ball strings I'm used to using to the Fender strings that came stock on the bass. I'm this happy with its sound as-is. I highly recommend you get one of these.
