One of the new American made Jazz basses. I was looking for a solid bass
that I could use as my main one, and Fender is about as solid as you can
get.
I bought this one used, but there is not a scratch on it. The features on
this bass include everything you would find on standard Jazz (slimmer neck,
2 Jazz pickups, that growl!) plus some features that are exclusive to the
American made basses. Those include: Ash body option, Maple fretboard
option, string-though body, more detailed fret work, and the white blonde
finish, which is only available if you have the Ash body option. The
finish is almost see-through.
This bass plays like a dream. It is quite a bit heavier then what I was
used to, but a padded strap will fix that. You get the typical Jazz bass
sounds from this, with the ever present 60 cycle hum, but that is what they
are good for. If you like Fenders, this is your bass.
