I was a guitarist for about three years until one day i decided to
pickup a bass when i was at my local music store. I had always been a
fan of the bass and always loved the sound. All my inspirations had
played fender basses(Dusty Hill, Roscoe Beck, Tommy Shannon, Max
Collins, and a local bass player in my town Tyler Church) so I decided
to take the fender road just like i had done a year before when i
bought my lonestar strat and six months before when i bought my baby a
'65 super reverb all tube and point to point hand wiring(talk about
your bad timing). I went with the P-Bass because it is thought of as
a bass for rock music and also had always enjoyed the sound of
humbucker's not to mention that it costed a hundred dollars less.
Rigth when i got it i took it out of the box and ran up to school, we
were having rehersals for our talent show. Right when i plugged it in
i felt like i was in heaven. The E string was thunderous, i felt a
sound wave shoot out of the amp and crack my rib-cage when I played it
openly. It was beautiful. Well to get on with the story they next
day was the talent show. We got on stage and started our version of
Entersandman. The sound was beyond perfect, it was amazing. Well we
finished the intro and went into our next song, Inside Out (EVE6), I
slid into the song right before the verse and it sounded exactly like
Max Collins. In the outro I experimented and popped my strings. Once
again JESSICA(The name of my bass, named after a friend of mine)
didn't let me down. Our performance was perfect, we were the hit of
the show.
Well now let's talk about the Bass. It is great it is light, sounds
great, it's controls are simple, the neck is fast, it provides a great
low end, stays in tune, it's preatty good at slapping,it is reliable,
it's affordable, and it's made in the USA..
My only complaint is that i wish that Fender would offer it in more colors.
