After owning and playing almost every bass made since 1968 I have come to the conclusion that the finest basses made are fenders prior to around the year 1972. Every new "designer" bass I ever owned was a great peice of furniture but a lousy instrument. Why ? Unstable necks, too flat a radius to really play the thing, too heavy, too long a fingerboard, you name it they got it wrong. Leo however did not. This bass is as comfortable as it gets. The pickups sound great, the neck is a joy and it doesn't move around every week, it is comepletely stock and delivers every tone a pro bassist could want except for an early P-bass w/ flatwounds which I also own, a 1965. Give me a 4 string early fender, a good amp, new strings, inspiration, 2 hands and 10 fingers, and a good drummer and this bass will deliver whatever I tell it to. Don't be fooled by marketing, get an old fender or even a gibson and practice. The tone is in the wood and your hands.
