The fit and finish is just about perfect. The Neck is about 1 7/8 inches at the nut and about 3 inches at the end. Compared to a "StingRay5" it feels a bit clubish. The bridge as a unique locking screw which keeps the saddles from moving around. I never had this problem with any bridge, but I guess Leo thought it was important. The tuning gears are of the OLD FENDER type. The body feels roughly like a P bass.

The bass plays OK but the big neck is just too big for my hands. I like the width, it's the thickness that bothers me. The tone is ultra modern. This is due to EMG DC40s and preamp. I would like to hear this bass with a smoother sounding pickup, I might like the sound a little better.

In closing I feel that the G&L L5500 is a very well made instrument. I just can't live with the neck and tone.
