I hate Ibanez... ...yet all of my basses wind up having that stamped on them somewhere.

I've had this bass 2 years and I still havnt found a bass that i'd rather have purchased than this one. Sounds the best in any application than any other bass for the money. Two 9volt batteries give this bass all the flexibility you could ever want. Action is factory pre-set low, which i like.

This bass is not a thing like any other ibanez you'll ever play, so dont just assume that because its ibanez, its gonna suck. They didnt even write ibanez on the headstock. (i think they knew they happened to have a great bass, and didnt want to ruin it with their name on the front)

Mine has a problem with the input (which has a handy locking feature- nice when you step on the cord at a time you wouldnt want it to pop out). For some reason, it crackles with any cable as if my cable is bad. And because of its unique input design i have no idea how to fix it. needs more than a screwdriver and a sodering iron. I think its gonna need a trip to the shop. (its still playable and gigable)

Also the metal parts seem to corrode really fast. i suppose i'd suggest buying a used one, because they all probably corrode just as fast- so you can either pay twice as much and own it for a year where its in perfect condtion, or let someone else hold it for that year and than pay them half as much.

This bass is really quiet. Some insturments seem to cause amps to hum, not this one. Quiet as a dead mouse.

The neck is a little longer than most basses. Great for the tone, but makes buying strings a little tougher.

The strings are really far apart, but if your moving up from a 4 string to a 5 string you are probably used to a little extra space so you should feel very at home on this bass, so GO TRY ONE!!! if you dont try this bass before buying your next bass, even if its not in your price range (too high or low) youre making a big mistake. Make sure the salesperson shows you how to use the sweepable mids- it sounds like a wah pedal when you move the knob. THATS A LOT OF TONE CAPABILITY!

I get a slight bit of fret buzz in a couple spots. I raised my action a little, and its ok now.

It's heavy. it hurts to jump around when you play- so make sure you get a quality strap with this one.

Also, one of the metal peices that the screws for the battery cover screw into is loose in the wood- so the screw just turns the metal peice instead of screwing in all hte way. annoying...

Dont worry about going through batterys, if you unplug the cable from the bass when your not playing, they last around a year with moderate use.

If you're an ebay freak, and feel compelled to buy something without hearing it first, i swear you'll love the sound of this one. Plays nice too.
