The sound is excellent, if you like a traditional sound and don't like to play with lots of EQ. From switching on the sound is classic, very powerful you can feel it. The sound I would describe as full and rounded with no gaps. If you up the gain, the amp will begin to come into its own - the sound produced can only be described as - Awesome - I like a sound that seems as though it's about to go over the edge, not full of distortion but firm with a pwerful tight punch.
This amp is not sloppy at all, I use it either with one 4x12 or 2 4x12s. I have used other hybrids and transistor amps and none of them can perform like this one does. As I said to our drummer and guitarist, The Marshall has Landed....This one Rocks!
