This bass is phenomonal. I spent a solid of week of trying it out everyday to have it sink in. I could not believe that Peavey had come out with this instrument. The balance across all five strings is near perfect and all fequencies are present in the sound of this bass. Plus with the active EQ I can get just about any tone I want out of this bass except maybe a fretless tone..
The wood selection is awesome too. I ordered a Carvin bass made for me a few months back and I sent it back because the wood selection was TERRIBLE. Ugly knots and flaws all over the place. The woods they chose for this bass are awesome. Very even grains and not a single knot.
The workmanship is also top notch. For example the transistion between the clear gloss finish of the body and the oiled neck is perfect. The Carvin bass I sent back had a fudged trasition between the neck and body.
GO out and try one if you haven't already!
