construction, The Neck is worth writing home about. The frets are well crowned, and fit the fingerboard. The fingerboard is a nice piece of real wood. The Neck is fully adjustable and neck angle may be changed from the neck joint. aesthetics, The finish on this bass is truly horrendous. Green hollow flake its called or something. Just trying to be a Modulus Flea Bass Wannabe, I guess. The shape of the bass is cool. sound, Modern P-bass. The pickup is close to P-bass placement, and less like stingray. Good for most rock tones. Interestingly, also a very nice slap tone. The bass comes alive when its spanked. Otherwise not particularily versatile, but you already know that. Quiet electronics. playability, The neck is only 1.5" at the nut, which is tighter string spacing than my 5-strings. The neck is 35" long which feels especially strange with the tight string spacing. I've played fretless most of my life, so I'm particular sensitive to the increased length of the neck. The body and neck are based on Jeff Berlin's "Blonde" bass ergonomics Light, but head heavy.

Construction 90%
(Finish applied well, but sloppy around the neck joint - nice gotoh accessorie
s)
Appearance 85%
(Vintage 90's metal flake)
Playability 90%
(dislike tight string spacing, and extra long neck)
Sound 95%
(big and lively, but needs a bridge pickup)
Value 100%
(even at retail prices, it is a great deal - comparable to low end Zon and Mod
ulus - which sell at twice the price)
Overall 95%
(My other basses are fretless 5 strings. The fretted 4 strings were a nashvi
lle Tobias, G&L SB-2, and a Fender American Jazz. The construction is compara
ble to those, but the I get way more bass for the money with the Peavey.)
