The construction of this beautiful instrument was very well done. I\'ve noticed nothing inferior whatsoever. Its sound is very solid and true even when its unplugged. The 2 VFL pickups are extremely sensitve and even slight adjustments to there heights can change the sound. This was very impressive. The active electronics are dead quiet. No hum, no buzz, no hiss, nothing! There is a band eq (+-15db). I boost the bass just a bit and cut the midrange and treble even less to find that perfect sound. I usually end up centering the treble once my strings are getting dead. The cirrus has a VERY comfortable and fast neck with unempeded access to the 24th fret. The body is perfectly balanced so the neck doesn\'t dive when you take your hand off it. I found the 35\" scale really helps to tighten the E string up. It took a little getting used to but I\'ll never go back to 34\". The fretted notes on the E string are much more focused. This bass is extremely versatile. The sounds you can achieve range from classic rock, jazz, funk (great slapping bass) and everything inbetween. This bass could easily sell for $500-$800 more. My friend bought a Warwick for over $2100 and yes it is a little beefier on the low end and you have a passive/active switch but is it worth a $1000 more? IMO absolutley not. If you\'re looking for a pro sounding bass for under a months salary, buy a Cirrus!
