I love the sound and playability of this bass. It's a little brittle sounding without rolling back on the tone knob a bit. It has a Jazz Bass-like tone, but a bit thicker, and the pickups are a LOT quieter. I think it plays better than a Jazz. I love the way that the pickups share the fretboard's radius; they feel really nice under your fingers.

Complaints: 1) there are 2 different types of tuners on this bass. 2) the neck pocket is off-center. Originally, the E string was about 1/8" closer to the edge of the fretboard than the G. 3) the fretboard and pickup edges were sharp ( I rounded them over).

Overall, though, I think it's a great bass. If Peavey nips their quality control issue, they will have a fantastic product for the price.
