I had heard that Pedulla made some of the best fretless basses around so I jumped at the chance to get this wonderful bass at such a good price. This bass has the sweet fretless growl that I had only heard in a Zon previouly, but without the ridiculously overblown price tag (i don't mind paying for quality, but Zon is ridiculous, thats another story).
The neck on this 6 string is paper thin and has a very low action. The bartolini's sound good, but noisy. I would have replaced them outright with EMG's, but then I would lose the Great Pedulla made Pre-amp (you have to have an EMG preamp with their pickups). The onboard eq is very effective and voiced just right for my playing.
The bass itself is beautifully finished in a black cherry finish all over that shows off the detail of the Flame and quilt maple. The Gold harware is a classy touch. This is a relatively medium weight 6 string heavier than my Peavy Cirrus 6 but, light compared to my Spector NS-6 (Yes I am bragging ! ! about my vast array of high end basses). A very cool bass.
