R Basses are high end basses with unbelievable tone and feel. My 5-string R Bass was custom made by Ray Roger using a 2” Alder body with a Jara Burl top. The neck is 3 piece Maple with matching Jara Burl head stock on the top and Zebra on the back. And a Pao Faro finger board. I choose the single cut away style with two Bartolini jazz pick ups and Bartolini 18 volt pre-amp. I got this bass in a 33” inch scale and for those who say you can’t get the same tone especially on the low B as on a 34” or 35” haven’t tried an R-Bass. I can’t begin to describe just how beautiful the bass plays and looks. I can shape the tone to almost anything I want. I like to play Jazz, Blues, Motown, and of course Rock and Roll. One of the things I like most about the bass is the fantastic tone you get even when all the controls are set flat.

The bass is extraordinary with its ability to cut through without sounding harsh or boomy. Weight isn’t a problem either. The bass is well balanced and there isn’t any neck drop even when sitting down. I loved this bass so much that I bought another one. I feel the only limitation with this bass is me.
