This is a Rickenbacker. You've heard that name before. Let me say, first off, that this bass is not for everyone. If you're considering buying one, PLAY IT FIRST!!!! It definitely isn't a slapper's bass, but if you want a straight beautiful bass tone and unbelievable resonance, this is for you.
There isn't much variation with the controls, but it all sounds good. I highly recommend this bass for those of you that play reggae or punk for that low sound you need, and I also recommend it for jazz-philes. The sound that you get out of this bass can be contoured to sound much like an acoustic bass, so if you're into that, go for it..
Also, look around on the price..you can find Rics going for 900 or 600, older ones can usually be picked up for around 700-800
