It's a Sadowsky. Need I say more?!?! O.K. I will. First off, Roger Sadowsky (and all the staff at his shop) are extremly helpful.
The "famous" Sadowsky pre-amp (available as a seperate unit from Sadowsky) is wonderful. I have the passive tone control option (ala' old Fenders) that works along with the active pre-amp. The finish and construction are perfect, playability is awesome, and the tone!!
A lot of folks ask me if I could get the same sound out of a lot cheaper bass. Maybe I could, but the confidence I get from playing this bass is unmatched by any other. I can walk into a studio with this bass, plug right into the board and sound good NOW, not 20 min. later after EQing the hell out of it. The same goes for live playing. It would take one hell of a soundman to screw up it's tone!!
All said, it sounds/feels like I've been hit with 1000 pounds of dark, rich chocolate.
No other company will ever match the mystique assosiated with Sadowsky basses, to their own.
