When I first heard about Sadowsky basses I was not too interested. The thought of spending the kind of money that he requires for the instruments just didn't seem to make much sense. I had played Laklands and Lulls, and while these are high quality for sure, they were still nothing special in terms of their usefulness. I assumed Sadowsky's stuff was similar. Boy was I wrong!

I received the bass a week and a half ago. So far I have been unable to put the instrument down. The following is what I observed:

Construction: I have never seen a tighter fitting neck pocket. Also, the materials and workmanship are quite obviously second to none!

Finish: The finish on this instrument looks flawless (to the naked eye anyway) and the Lake Placid Blue (w/ matching headstock) is just beautiful.

Sound: This is the only valid reason to own a Sadowsky IMHO. If you are a serious pro (or if you want to be one) you need this bass. If not, you don't. The sounds and versatility of this instrument are without equal.

Playability: This bass plays like a Jazz Bass, only it's a lot more solid feeling. Also, this is the most even sounding bass I have EVER played. NO DEAD SPOTS, PERIOD! If you have any technical ability at all on the bass you will really appreciate how balanced this bass is and it's feel. This playability probably contributes greatly to the instrument's tone as well.

This bass was the best music gear purchase ever made by me, and I've made a lot of them. I got the instrument for $2550.00 used, but Roger will make you one just like it for $3500.00 to $3600.00. This is definately a lot of money, but if you ever get the chance to play one you will be sold. Thanks Roger!
