The action on this bass was poor, a combination of a ready to snap neck and poor bridge made this bass very difficult to play. At first, however it does make your finger muscles twice as strong! Great!
The overall weight of the body pulls down on your shoulders like a tonne of bricks. So, make sure you have a proper bass strap before attempting to stand up with it.
When the pick-ups fully work, it can give a nice warm sound, with the jazz pick up on. However, if the strings are a fraction off then it will buzz like
hell. If you switch to Precision pick-ups then it gives a good rock sound that can cut through the guitars at any gig.
I've gotten to the stage now that I'm simply fed up with this bass. It looks normal, but plays rubbish! It has now started to slowly disintegrate. So, if you choose this bass, be aware, it'll need changing in a year or so. It's basses like this, this is the reason why Squires have gone bust in the UK! If you desperately want a Squire P-bass, go for the cheaper Affinity series. I've found they're better value for money!
