Status Graphite is a company based in the UK. This is a headless, 34" scale bass with the tuners at the bridge. I always use double ball end strings, but it can use regular strings as well. The weight is light, and perfectly balanced. It feels rock solid.

In spite of the use of graphite, it can suite any style of music. The Electronics/controls can dial in any sound I need. I use it with an SWR Baby Blue combo, and Hartke 3500 w 4x10XL + 1x15XL. The electronics are very quiet. As you would expect with an all graphite bass, you can get a very bright sound. However, this bass can also dial in a very warm sound. It can be set up with incredibly low action without string buzzing.

No truss rod to adjust. Super stable and very dependable. This bass is a rock. It also never goes out of tune. The battery life on mine has been very good. This is a worry free bass - no constant truss tweaking, no dead spots, always in tune...

Although I have never had to send it back to Status for repairs, I have contacted them many times with questions. They have always been extremely helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately, this model is no longer in production. Status now makes a similar all graphite model called the Stealth. The obvious comparison would be to a Steinberger XL bass. (I happen to own an XL2A.) They are both headless, modern, composite instruments, but the Status is much more versatile. You can get that bright, cutting sound, but you can also get a more traditional sound. I also feel the sound is much fuller - perhaps due to the fact that the Series 2000 has more of a body than the XL2A. The pickups, electronics, and hardware are also superior on the Status. I cannot say enough positive things about this bass! If you can find one used - buy it! (In fact, I own two Series 2000's!)
