I love this amp. It's small, light, and puts out a ton of power. It's perfect for gigging in the city where you need to do a lot of carrying, and it makes for a light weight rack that's easy to drop into the trunk of a car. The best thing about it is the sound .. it's much more transparent and clean and uncolored than other power amps or heads that I've used. It sounds more like a piece of hi fi gear than a raspy PA amp. It doesn't have any limiting circuitry in the signal path, so there's nothing to squash your transients . . this makes a huge difference. The sound is tight, clean, and dynamic.
The 1.2 has no fan. It's cooled by convection. I've never had a problem with it, but you should be prepared to leave space above and below it in your rack. Hot rooms seem to heat it up more than loud playing.
With my Epifani 3x10 and this amp, I could play just about any room in New York without help from the PA, if I had to, and the whole setup fits into the trunk of a cab. This is very cool.
If you need more versatility or need to drive more speakers, one of this amp's big brothers (the 1.6 or 2.1) might be a better bet. This amp gets the big power numbers by running bridged; if you have to run it in stereo, it's much less powerful.
