This is my first bass. I at first wanted an Ibanez GSR200, but could not find one in stock anywhere. When I did find one, I found that the frets weren't very well seated and so cut into my hand. Therefore, I did not purchase the bass( and was turned away from Ibanez Soundgears forever after). Instead, I shopped around. Being a novice, I had no idea about branding etc. So, when I walked into a local store I saw this. I thought the body shape was nice, but not anything special. It looked, literally, 'like a bass' to me back then. However, when I picked it up it was light, easy to play and had a good sound(to my ears).

In reflection I got lucky. I got a model where construction was as good as to be expected, with no major flaws. The sound was relatively good, but you need a good amp for it.

Neck is chunky - more for you Precision players than Jazz players. I like it. Wide string spacing, good for slap(even though I don't). Small body, light, but no neck dive. Punchy sound, definite P-J sound, with P-Bass available.

REQUIRES A GOOD SET UP. I learned how to do my own setups on this thing, and it now rocks.

Also, am adding some DiMarzio P-J replacements, to make it kill. May put in new bridge/tuners.
