The T-bass has many interesting features,
There is a third, hum cancelling pickup under the
pickguard that works very well. You can solo either
of the J pickups with no noise problem.
The neck has a zero fret, which I have found to
really make a differnce in the tone. I was skeptical.
The headstock is, well, a different shape. TE
calls it the ergonomic tuning system - it allows for the
player to reach the tuning keys much easier...I thought it
looked strange at first - But I really find it to be
functional.
The bridge is four individual sections that are very solid.
Overall, this bass, which is made by Status, for TE
adds up to a very nice instrument. I have found that the
tone is very lively - lots of snap - with a great J-bass
tone. I really appreciate the tone of this instrument
when playing gigs, as it always seems to come across clear
and not muddy. The controls all work nicely and
the bass is well balance.
Overall, a nice instrument. I have been gigging and recording with it for
over 6 months and have no complaints.
