Finally I have the sound I was looking for! With the overdrive on half, I can achieve a nice Chris Squire/geddy Lee growl with any bass! I use this as a stompbox, and have recorded with it, and the sound is killer! My advise is to test this one out at the store by turning the blend full left (to hear the dry signal) then, gradually turn it to the right. You will hear an amazing tranformation of your sound! It becomes warmer, cleaner, more scooped and much richer and more texturally interesting. I have notice with regular bass overdrive units that the distortion usually seems to "raspy". This box simulates the sound of a huge tube amp going full blast, but at any volume! I did not even have to use the example settings, but rather, I leave it with Bass and treble to half, blend all the way to the right, and the presence about 3/4. Now I can just use the overdrive to either get clean or dirty. By the way, this little blessing is ANALOG! One more great thing- the name, "sansamp" is French for "without amp"! Meaning, you can go to a studio with just this and your bass and totally shine! Live, you could possible use it to go straight to a PA (provided you have good monitors) but it is better as a stopbox or used as a direct box! Way better then the Line 6 POD!
