First a word about the deal, musicyo.com. I got e-mail confirmation of the order within minutes with a ups tracking number, they shipped the bass that same day,and it was at my door in three days. $485.00 tax tag title, done. No muss no fuss no B.S.

Now the bass: I've always played "Ego" basses so this is really hard to admit, but this is a smoking hot deal, completely untouchable in the price range. It played great right out of the box and after a quarter turn of the truss rod and a real quick (2 min.) fret dress, the strings layed down against the frets and put forth the best action I have ever encountered. You think you can't dig in to a low action string without it buzzing? I'm here to tell you it can be done.

The body is a good grade of quilted maple (it's advertised as flame but it really isn't) the satin finish dosn't really do it justice as it looks much better under stage lighting than in your living room. The pickups sound very good live with no noise and just about any sound you want, including a monster slap tone, in the studio the bass records like a S.O.B.!

I really can't say enough good about the bass, the price is just icing on the cake. And from a bunch of Koreans too. (go figure) If I had to say somthing negative it would be this:

The strings are a little close together for slapping, but it can be done, and you're rewarded with a tone that makes the effort worthwile. The other thing is that the radius of the fingerboard is as close to flat as it can get and the side markers are very small and hard to see. What this means is that if you're standing up playing on a poorly backlit stage, you can't see the markers on the fingerboard or neck! I found this out the hard way and trust me it wasn't pretty. Dis bass gotta whole lotta neck! So now I have thousands of dollars worth of "Ego" basses sitting in cases collecting dust while I play the crap out of this cheap Korean bass. I couldn't be happier
