| Tune Bass Maniac 4 string - list about $1300 paid $650 new | |
The neck is a three piece maple neck with a rosewood, 24 - fret board, very slim and easy to play and is guaranteed for life. It is finished in gloss poly and has a little drag when your hads get wet but is not too bad. The neck is much easier to play on than the Jazz bass I had before. Very tight fit between the body and the neck. I could not slip a piece of notebook paper between the neck and body.
Tone controls, active (9-volt) blend, volume, treble and bass - very easy to use and have +_15 dB range. The pickups are TUNE P-J set and the electronics are also by TUNE. The bass sounds so good that I use just a little bass boost and a slight blend toward the bridge pickup.
I have had many friends play this and they have always preferred the Tune to their basses. (As most of my friends are pro's or older fanatical players, their basses have been great) The tone of the bass is quite good and with a P-J set of pickups, you can get most any tone you want. I highly reccomend this bass, if you see one used, don't hesitate to buy it!
