This was my first bass, and boy, is it ever bad compared to some
stuff I've played (make that "most, if not all"). It's your
standard P-Bass ripoff, I suppose.
This is a beginner's bass first and foremost, and, from
that point of view, there are a few nice things about it. The
sound is alright for the price, but the big plus is the
construction. I severely beat mine - one of my buddies even tried
to put it through his basement wall - and it still played fine.
The body is kinda neat looking too, but the pickguard is UGLY!
I don't know what else there is to say about a beginner
bass. The only pro player that could want this is a punker that
likes to smash his gear but not waste much money on it. Actually,
if sturdiness is what you want, this might be the bass for you,
but there are lots of other Sears-esque basses out there that are
a lot more playable. Like anything else you get, try it out first
and see how you like it.
