I have a Fender Mexican P-Bass and an ESP F-205, and neither of them compare (granted, there is a price difference). I played many guitars while looking for a "real" guitar to stick with, and I was leaning towards a Musicman. I'm happy to say I went with the Wal instead.
The construction of the guitar feels incredibly solid, especially when compared to the cheaply constructed ESP and Mexi Fender. I haven't been bothered by any aspect of the construction, and while I've heard complaints about the heel being oversized, I haven\'t found it bothersome at all. The guitar IS a little on the heavy side, but it will put hair on your chest :P
The sound of this guitar is awesome, it is extremely versatile, there are really an endless number of tone variations available once you figure out the electronics.
This guitar really just plays like a $3000 guitar should, it's a whole lot of fun. I'm just glad I didn't have to pay that much for it.
