First let me say that I've owned SWR, Eden, Demeter, G-K, and Kern equipment. The Walter Woods is by far the best of breed. 1200 watts, 6 lbs. in a package the size of cigar box. You can rack mount it or not. It is even smaller and lighter than Eden's WT-400. Did I mention it is rated at 1200 watts!!
What else do I need to say. I still can believe this amp is solid state. The sound is a bit more "vintage" than SWR or Eden but it doesn't mess with the tone of you bass like Ampeg or Trace. Channel 1 seems to be voiced for electric while channel 2 seems to be voiced for upright bass.
Victor Wooter and John Pattitucci both use Walter Woods amps. Walter is very difficult to get hold of but he is a great guy and knows more about amps than anyone I've ever known.
The WW ultra High Power is not cheap but how much would you pay for the best sounding amp in the world. This thing is small and powerful. I rated the value at 90 only because the $1900 priace tag puts it out of! ! the reach of a lot of players.
